The University Ibn Zohr (UIZ)

The University Ibn Zohr (UIZ) covers 19 provinces within four regions of southern Morocco representing over 50% of the country. Its 10 schools (5 Faculties and 5 Schools) are distributed to five university sites: Agadir, Ouarzazate, Taroudant, Laayoune and Guelmim. Currently, the University Ibn Zuhr, is hosting more than 54,000 students in 130 structures. The teaching staff consists of approximately 650 research professors and 50 teachers of the 2nd cycle. The administrative and technical staff account for its approximately 360 people.

Since its inception in 1989, the University Ibn Zohr (UIZ) has consistently acted to ensure the best conditions, its traditional missions of education and research. It has consistently sought to integrate into the socio-economic and cultural as well as better exploitation of the potential of the southern regions of the Kingdom.

Role in the project:

Integration in the system and IT development, particularly for what concern the technical part, as establishment of data collection and data merge procedures, at new comers level. Work at local/university level in all actions useful for reports’ issue: DB cleaning and dataset preparation for statistical analysis; and ex post utilization/analysis of survey results for

evaluation of internal effectiveness of academic system and attitude of local labour market towards students. Spread of

local observatory good practice and MADIP experience on the whole group of ISLAH universities helping them to model

their local initiatives and promoting network building. Direct participation to seminars and conferences and in

dissemination at local level, sensitizing local stakeholders on projects’ outcomes and in promoting new partners’ joining.
