The Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency, AQU Catalunya

The Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency, AQU Catalunya, is the main instrument for the promotion and assurance of quality in the Catalan higher education system. The purpose of AQU Catalunya is the assessment, accreditation and certification of quality in the sphere of the universities and higher education centres of Catalunya.

AQU Catalunya is full member of ENQA, and has been one of the first three agencies to be included in the EQAR. AQU is also member of INQAAHE, the Spanish Network of Spanish Quality Assurance Agencies (REACU) and the European Consortium for Accreditation (ECA). AQU Catalunya was the first European quality agency to be ISO certified.

At present, AQU consists of Governing Bodies (28 members), (President, director and Board of directors), Assessment, Accreditation and Certification Bodies (45 members), (Quality Assessment Commisson, Tenure-track Lecturer and Collaborating Lecturer Commission and Research Assessment Commission), Advisory Bodies.

Role in the project:

AQU will transfer knowledge and best practice in the promotion and assurance of QA in higher education system to local research units and will support the background analysis of the tools and activities carried out in Morocco and Tunisia for the identifying of synergies and avoid duplication. It will also work on report preparation and in particular on the 2 Graduates Job condition Survey. Preparation of the methodological guidelines for monitoring activities and considering harmonization issue with the northern countries involved (France/Spain/Italy). AQU will support the activities related to the efficient implementation of quality control in particular through the collection and systematization of all feedback gathered during project implementation for the delivery of the feedback report for quality control.
